Malcolm began carving in 1966 when he met a Latvian craftsman named Louis Brunavs. In the 1970s Malcolm was asked to complete the woodwork for a semi-circular stair in Barnsley - this led to the formation of his own business.
In 1989 following the relocation to Wiltshire his son Mark joined the business. Mark had spent his formative years watching his father at work. At night Mark would treat seminal woodworking textbooks like the 1920s "Stairbuilding and Handrailing" as bedtime reading!
Today - the father and son team work from their workshop in Bromham.
